Introduction


Industry key laboratories are an important component of the non-metallic mineral industry's technological innovation platform. They are important bases for conducting high-level research and development activities, solving industry basic common key technologies, focusing on and cultivating first-class scientific and technological talents, conducting high-level academic exchanges, and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. They are of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of China's non-metallic mineral industry. Recently, the China Non Metallic Mineral Industry Association organized experts to conduct on-site inspections and evaluations of the "Key Laboratory for the Development and Application of Key Mineral Materials in China's Non Metallic Mineral Industry" jointly declared by Wuhan University of Technology and Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd.

On March 9, 2023, the China Non Metallic Mining Industry Association organized an evaluation meeting for key laboratories in the industry. The meeting conducted an on-site inspection and evaluation of the "Key Laboratory for the Development and Application of Key Mineral Materials in China's Non Metallic Mineral Industry" jointly declared by Wuhan University of Technology and Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd.


Pan Donghui, President of the China Non Metallic Mineral Industry Association, Tang Jingyan, full-time Vice President, Guo Jia, Director of the Industry Department, Professor Wu Chaozhong, Vice President of Wuhan University of Technology, Professor Wang Xin, Director of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, Professor Bao Shenxu, Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Professor Zhang Lingyan, Associate Professor Ren Zijie, Department Head, Professor Zhao Yunliang, Zhang Youlian, Chairman of Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd., Yu Tieming, Director of the R&D Center, Huang Houzhi, Production Department Manager, and Engineer Jiang Tao attended the evaluation meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Tang Jingyan.


The evaluation expert group is composed of five experts, namely Academician Zhang Lianmeng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice President of the China Non Metallic Mineral Industry Association, Chief Engineer Professor Tang Jingyan, Assistant to the President of Wuhan University of Engineering Professor Chi Ru'an, Director of the Academic Committee of Wuhan University of Science and Technology Professor Zhang Yimin, and Vice President of Suzhou Sinoma Non Metallic Mineral Industry Design and Research Institute Professor Zhang Ming.


At the meeting, Vice President Wu Chaozhong and President Pan Donghui delivered speeches successively. Vice President Wu Chaozhong, on behalf of Wuhan University of Technology, warmly welcomed the arrival of the experts and expressed the school's high attention to the construction of industry key laboratories. He hoped that through the construction of the laboratories, high-level innovative achievements could contribute to the construction of a world-class university with distinctive characteristics and contribute to the high-quality development of the industry. President Pan Donghui welcomed and thanked all the leaders and experts attending the conference. He said that Wuhan University of Technology and Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd. jointly applied to establish the "Key Laboratory for the Development and Application of Key Mineral Materials in China's Non Metallic Mineral Industry", which is the first industry key laboratory in the non mineral industry to apply for "school enterprise cooperation". It reflects the integration of industry, academia, research and application, promotes the organic connection of education chain, talent chain, innovation chain and industry chain, facilitates the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, pilot testing and industrialization construction, and is of great significance for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the non-metallic mineral industry, green, safe and high-quality development, and enhancing the basic research and application research of non-metallic mineral functional materials in China. It is expected that this key laboratory will not only serve as a link for achieving win-win cooperation between co building units and enterprises, but also become an important source of support for the industry to implement and serve the strategies of revitalizing the country through science and education and strengthening the country through talent. It will become an engine for implementing major national strategies, industry plans, and development goals, and comprehensively promoting the high-quality development of the non-metallic mining industry.


At the meeting, Academician Zhang Lianmeng was elected as the leader of the evaluation expert group, and Vice President Tang Jingyan was appointed as the vice leader. The expert group carefully listened to Professor Bao Shenxu's report on the establishment of a key laboratory for China's non-metallic mineral industry on behalf of the applying unit, and conducted on-site inspections of the laboratory construction situation.


After questioning and discussion, the expert group unanimously agreed that the application documents and materials for the "Key Laboratory of Key Mineral Materials Development and Application in China's Non metallic Mineral Industry" jointly submitted by Wuhan University of Technology and Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd. meet the requirements for the application of key laboratories in China's non-metallic mineral industry. The leading unit, Wuhan University of Technology Mineral Processing Engineering, is a national key (cultivation) discipline, a key construction discipline of the "211 Project" and a key discipline of Hubei Province. The cooperating unit, Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd., is a leading enterprise in the fine chemical industry of bentonite in China and a specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The establishment of a key laboratory for the development and application of key mineral materials through school enterprise cooperation is in line with the "National Medium - and Long Term Science and Technology Development Plan Outline" and the "National Strategic Emerging Industry Development Requirements". It plays a significant role in promoting the transformation and upgrading of the non-metallic mineral industry, high-quality development, and enhancing the basic research, applied research, and achievement transformation of non-metallic mineral functional materials in China. The applying unit has carried out a large amount of preliminary construction work for key laboratories, focusing on the refinement and high-value development of key non-metallic mineral materials, and has the conditions for pilot and industrial construction. The research direction is accurate, the construction goals are clear, and the conditions for creation are met, which meets the requirements for the construction of key laboratories in China's non-metallic mineral industry. The expert group unanimously agrees that the joint application of Wuhan University of Technology and Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd. for the "Key Laboratory for the Development and Application of Key Mineral Materials in China's Non Metallic Mineral Industry" has passed the evaluation and is recommended to be directly awarded the license.


Professor Bao Shenxu, Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology, and Zhang Youlian, Chairman of Zhejiang Chang'an Renheng Technology Co., Ltd., thank the attending leaders and experts for their support and recognition of the joint construction of the industry key laboratory. They stated that both parties will create a benchmark for school enterprise cooperation through the establishment of the industry key laboratory, establish a comprehensive, long-term, and stable cooperative relationship, and focus on the development and application of new technologies, processes, and products related to key mineral functional materials. In terms of technology research and development, industrialization of achievements, talent training, etc., advantages will complement each other, resources will be shared, mutual benefit and win-win, and common development will be achieved.
